The first 4 weeks of 2024 have already passed. Life comes at you fast. Whether it’s the redrawing of the global energy-resources map, the upsurge in armed conflict or rapid progress in AI, the world is changing at mind-boggling speed. From the war in Gaza Strip to the extremely fast progress in BESS technologies as key enabler of RES penetration and even more crucial contribution to a successful Energy Transition, things look very different from the way they did just two or three years ago.

As regards Greece, the new year 2024 could be a new dynamic beginning. May it be the onset of a new GRebound and an era of investment euphoria, brain GRegain, and further positive economic outlook.

A plethora of new GReat investment opportunities are expected to arise in 2024 and for the next decade not only from the tourist sector but also from other attractive economic sectors of the highly promising Greek market like Greek RES-Energy sector (large scale solar PV and Wind strategic investments with embedded BtM BESS units, Offshore Wind Farms, Energy Transmission Networks, FtM BESS investments, HPP investments, CSPs, Biogas and Biomethane units and Green Hydrogen projects incl.), Urban Regeneration Projects like the emblematic Ellinikon Mega Project, large-scale Logistics Centers, Maritime Sector, Research and new Technologies, Capital and Energy Markets (via Athens Stock Exchange-ASE and HEnEx), Agricultural Sector, Construction Industry and projects of the wider Infrastructure field.

After the Crucifixion, the economic (G)Resurrection comes… However, it is worth mentioning that in order to achieve a general GRestart, GRebound, GRecovery, GRepower, GRebirth, GReen GRowth, GRinvestment euphoria, upGRade, proGRess, GRecharging, GRegeneration, demoGRaphic GRegain, GResurrection and GRebranding we will have to fight and work hard! Our sacrifice and brave uncomplaining struggle is now more necessary than ever…

Apart from the above it is worth underlining that the most serious challenge for Greece will be the conversion of the current dangerous and extremely disturbing population decline. Particularly, a national Master Plan (Nr.1 National Priority) will have to be established towards the halting of population decline and the radical change of the current trend of depopulation.

The demographic potential of Greece will be the key driver of economic growth in the long run. Therefore, a demoGRaphic GRessurection is more necessary than ever in order Greece with a current market size of about 10.3 mil. inhabitants (2024 estimation) and a nominal GDP of about $242 bil. to be established as a significant middle power in the global geo-economic terrain and one of the most important powers in the Balkans, the wider SE Europe and the neuralgic eastern Mediterranean region.
